The Norfolk Island Botanic Gardens were declared jointly by the Norfolk Island and Commonwealth government in 1986. Originally covering 0.6 hectares, the gardens’ aims are to increase our knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of Norfolk Island's plant heritage.

A further 4.9 hectares of remnant rainforest were recently purchased, creating the present 5.5 hectares site, including both natural vegetation and cultivated sections. There are also a number of beautiful walking trails through Norfolk Island Botanic Gardens, allowing you to get close and personal with our wildlife.

Botanic Gardens are open every day of the week and entry is free.
